It’s being able to do the right thing and developing the habit of being honest in your conduct, speech, and attitudes even when you are not being held accountable. We all have areas in our life where we could do better concerning our integrity. We practice the small acts of integrity when no one is looking, then when we’re called on for the big acts of integrity; we’ve already made it a habit in our lives.

Write down a habit you have that does not demonstrate the best of integrity. Determine today that you will start practicing to change that pattern. Then, as you get better at that area, add something else to it.

Model Consistency of Character – The character you have when you’re by yourself, or when you are with other people shouldn’t change, or it shouldn’t change between groups of people. Consistency of character needs to remain the same.

Employ Honest Communication – We all use half-truths to protect ourselves and our emotions, or the way we interact with other people. Learning to be honest without being hurtful is an essential skill.

Value Transparency – Sometimes we hide our real self because we’re scared of how people will see us. But to be open doesn’t mean you have to over-share or tell your life story. It just means you let people know you’re a human being, and you do make mistakes. It’s not about being perfect; it’s being honest about who you are and where you struggle.

Fulfill Your Promises – There’s an expectation that if you make a promise, you follow through; you don’t go back on your word. Don’t make promises that you can’t keep.
