On Today’s Show
Author Jason Treu talks about how going to the right places is the key to building the relationships you want, both personally and professionally. Use Google and Facebook or Meetup.com to find events in your local community. You can also volunteer to help work the event you are going to attend. Keep asking people where they’re going and what they’re doing, because then you can build a list for yourself.

1 Simple Thing Action
Pick out two charities or nonprofits (museums, opera, symphony), and attend events in the next seven days. Just take the first step and go. That’s the key: just go. You’ll find it gets easier over time as you go to more events. Tell yourself, “This is going to be a fantastic event where I’m meeting great people that love to talk to me and are excited to meet me. And they want to have an interaction with me, so I need to go up and talk to them.” Feed yourself those positive thoughts, and maybe listen to some music that gets you excited. Think about some questions you are going to ask people, and put a smile on your face, because people are attracted to others who are happy, positive, and outgoing.
